Refund policy


RETURNS & WARRANTIES

Torque Electric distributes to all of the Torque Electric retail stores in the United Kingdom and N/Ireland as well as its online marketplace at Torqueelectric.co.uk . At Torque Electric, we are proud to support our customers and abide by our legal obligations under the Fair Trading Act and the Consumer Rights Act.

  • Consumer Rights Act 2015
    The consumer Rights Act sets out minimum standards for goods sold by Torque Electric online.
  • Fair Trading Act 1973
    The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect the customer being misled either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing, where the product was made, where the product is from, the meeting of the United Kingdom safety standards, availability of products in store and the sales techniques used. The Commerce Commission enforces the Fair Trading Act 1973.

WARRANTIES/RETURNS

Please note the following Torque Electric policy regarding warranty, return or exchange of goods. The Consumer Rights Act and Fair Trading Act provide the basis for Torque Electric's Online returns policy. For a product to be returned under our policy, that product must be in a resalable condition unless faulty or otherwise defective.  All goods supplied by Torque Electric are covered by the normal manufacturers' warranty. 

Come in and chat to our friendly staff at your closest Torque Electric branch or give us a call, and we are happy to assess your claim on a fair case by case basis. In the event that an item has to be couriered, the cost of freight, both for returning the item and sending any replacement, will be the responsibility of the customer. We recommend you use tracked delivery or registered post to return items so as to cover yourself against loss.

Please note, a customer has 14 days from date of purchase, collection or delivery to return an item for refund.

Generally proof of purchase is required. We may waive this requirement, in consultation with you, if we can confirm through our systems that we have sold you the product(s).

Where a refund is approved, please note that cleared funds may take up to 10 working days to appear.

Where you are eligible for a refund or exchange, the issuing of credit notes provides an alternative to a refund or exchange if the consumer would like to choose this option. These credit notes can be used to purchase anything from a Torque Electric retail store or put towards an online order.

CHANGED YOUR MIND?

As per UK online selling laws, a customer does not have to specify a reason for returning an order/item(s).

Torque Electric is not required to provide a refund in the instance that a customer has changed their mind after purchase - so please choose carefully. However, if the product is in new condition with original packaging, as stated previously, we are happy to assess on a case by case basis (if the product is within 14 days of original purchase). A restocking fee may be charged.  If you have any questions regarding our return policies, please contact your nearest Torque Electric store.

RETURNING – DANGEROUS GOODS

Due to the nature of Dangerous Goods such as batteries, special handling, transport, and compliance requirements apply. As a result, returns of these items are subject to additional conditions.

Eligibility for Returns:

  • Dangerous Goods may only be returned with prior approval.
  • Items must be unused, unopened, and in their original packaging, including all safety labels and documentation.
  • Returns must comply with all applicable dangerous goods transport regulations.
  • Please note that we cannot accept batteries for return
    that have received a charge. All Batteries arriving at our
    warehouse any evident charging will be returned at the
    expense of the particular customer.

Restocking Fee:

  • All approved returns of Dangerous Goods will incur a restocking fee of £35.00 - £100.00 depending on the product.
  • This fee covers the costs associated with inspection, regulatory compliance, safe handling, and reprocessing of Dangerous Goods.
  • The restocking fee amount will be deducted from the refund and may vary depending on the product and handling requirements.

Non-Returnable Items:

The following Dangerous Goods are non-returnable:

  • Opened or partially used products
  • Items with damaged, missing, or altered safety packaging or labels
  • Products returned without prior authorization

Return Shipping:

  • Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, including any additional charges required for the transport of Dangerous Goods.
  • Returns must be shipped using an approved carrier authorized to transport Dangerous Goods.

Refunds:

  • Once the returned item has been received and inspected, an eligible refund will be issued minus the applicable restocking fee and any non-refundable shipping costs.
  • Refunds will be processed to the original method of payment - this can take up to 10 working/business days
